G is fanning me

It is hot as hell here, but it´s all good because G is standing next to me, fanning me to keep me cool. AIESEC Istanbul sure knows how to treat its trainees!!

Today is my one week anniversary of being here, and I can´t believe how fast it has gone by. Yesterday I had my first true realization that I´m actually living here instead of just passing through. After work (in which I made some sweet origami dogs during a lesson on Japan) a group of us headed out to see some touristy parts of the city. I haven´t had much time to do that since I´ve been here because we´ve all been concentrating on getting oriented. We walked around the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia and such, and I finally figured out why every American tourist thinks everyone here speaks English; the only places tourists go are populated by Turkish people who can speak English, trying to sell them things or help them order food in a restaurant. I´m getting a completely different experience in the city than most people will ever get. Jawesome.
